New Addition

Boy, has it been a long time since I wrote in this blog. The reason I am updating today is because I have some great news. The Booker family will soon have another member. She is a beautiful little girl named Vika who is currently in Russia. She has Down Syndrome and belongs to this family. Dustin and I heard about her through an amazing organization called Reece's Rainbow. They help children in other countries with special needs find homes. It was no question that Dustin and I knew we wanted to do something to help. Adoption was only one of the many ways you can help these children but it is, without a doubt, the option we choose. From the first story the wonderful women at RR were sharing with me about, Victoria aka Vika, I had an instant attachment to her and her life. Kaiya took one look at her picture with no other information given and asked if that was her Sister. That was the final decision maker for me. Yes Kaiya, Yes it is. We have sent in our initial paperwork to the adoption agency including our first fees. We are now getting ready to start our Homestudy process. I will continue updating throughout this process. I apologize that I am not the best "Blogger" but I promise to update fully :)

Happy Fall 2010

Well Hello fellow bloggers. I can't believe it's November already. Where has this year gone? Well, we moved into a new home. It's about a block away from where we used to be. It's much bigger and has a fully fenced backyard. I repeat... FULLY FENCED BACKYARD! Those of you who know our KBug know how important that is :)
The Buddy Walk was in September and was AMAZING! Scottie and Kacie came down from Newport Beach to represent Living The Dream)( They did soooooo much. It couldn't have gone better. It went so well in fact, that the president of our chapter asked me to take over completely for 2011 Buddy Walk. We'll see...
Kaiya is doing GREAT in first grade. She loves riding the bus and has made lots of friends. It's so cute! We are working really REALLY hard on potty training. Some days are better then others. She has a potty watch now which is really helping her at school. Wish us luck :) Ryan is getting so big!! She is trying so hard to crawl right now. She has mastered the art of backward mobility and going around is circles. Now, just to get one knee in front of the other :) She says "Dada" "Ma" and "Hot" So cute! She LOVES her sister so much. Those two are hilarious together. Dustin is working like crazy and is doing great. He started a band called "Tainted Halos" and has been practicing every week for the last 4 months. They're first show is December 8, 2010 at Burt's Tiki Lounge. He is very excited. He writes all the lyrics and the music for 98% of their songs. He plays guitar and sings. This is his Passion and I'm so happy for him. I am working at a gym as the daycare manager. I have been there since August. The gym is sinking i think but i will be there til the end. Its the perfect job for me. I get Kaiya off to school, take Ry to work with me and get home just after lunch time.
Life is good. Pretty Crazy. A bit overwhelming. And a whole lot of beautiful.

New Life

Wow its been a long time since my last update. Our computer took a dive but is back up and running now so there is no better time then the present to give you all an update. After losing our baby girl in August 2008, i made the commitment to run the Ogden Marathon. During my training life threw many... many speed bumps my way. How i kept my head on straight and stuck to my strict training schedule, i have no clue. However, i did it. On May 16th of last year i ran my first Marathon crossing the finish line in 4 hours 30 minutes with Kaiya in my arms, and unaware of the growing baby in my belly :) On that same day we moved out of our apartment in Farmington and into the cutest little house just a few blocks away. The house is adorable and the yard is amazing. Huge grassy area for Kaiya to play. Huge garden and behind that we have about 6 fruit trees. We love it. We found out on Fathers Day 2009 that we were expecting another baby. We had a feeling but weren't going to take a test or tell anyone until we were pretty far along. That was until at a bbq on Fathers Day my father in law looked at me and said "Mrs. Booker, is there any particular reason you're glowing?" Needless to say, we ran out and got a test immediately. It was a wonderful pregnancy and on February 13th 2010 at 8:17am, we welcomed Ryan Grace Booker into our family. She is now 7 weeks old and life is great. Kaiya is on Spring Break from Kindergarten and is all registered for FIRST GRADE!!! I'm so proud of her. Dustin is working like crazy and also going to school. He's an amazing provider and a wonderful husband and father. I'm out of time today but I've brought you up to speed.... More soon.

New Beginings

Well, another week has almost come and gone. The world is still spinning and the sun still sets and rises. Dustin and i have come up with a ton of new goals and plans for the next year. We are training right now for a half Marathon next month and that will kick off our Marathon training. We plan to do our first Marathon in the spring. I am also looking into school. I'm interested in the esthetics's program at Fran Brown. It would take me a year and two months to complete going part time. I'm not 100% sure if I'm going to do it but I'm really putting thought into it. Kaiya is going to school and loving it. The only dislike she has so far is not riding the bus. The van was in Vegas all last school year so the bus was our only option. I enjoy taking her and picking her up but she'd rather be on the bus :) Her teachers are already so impressed with how well she's doing and how much she grew over the summer.
Dustin is working hard, as usual. He works long hours and is usually exhausted by the time he gets home. He loves his job though and the people really enjoy working with him. He is so excited for snow.
As for Dustin and myself, our hearts are still hurting for our loss. Some days we take 2 steps forward and the next day its one step back. We are moving forward, however, and have really learned to appreciate our lives and the people in it everyday. You never know what tomorrow will bring.
Until next time....

Loss

Not alot changes in our lives so i usually doin't have a lot to write about. I honestly didn't think anyone was reading it anyway.
Last Tuesday we got the news that we lost our baby. We were 14 weeks pregnant. The next few days i think Dust and i were both in shock and torn by disbelief. The pain came Thursday and that made it real for me. I was in a type of "Labor" for two days. It was the worst two days of my life. I "passed" the baby on Friday but spent the rest of the day in the hospital because my bleeding was out of control. I had to deliver the placenta or i could have bled to death. It was so devistating.
We came home and have been healing a little everyday since. That of course is the super short, little detailed version of what happened but i thought i'd make this the least depressing as possible.
We want to thank EVERYONE!! We didn't make dinner one night throughout the week. Someone always brought us something. We had 2 gift baskets delivered full of the most amazing relaxation things. We recieved flowers and even a house plant. The nicest cards and calls. It was so amazing to see how many people were right there to show there support. I've overwhelmed by you all and will never be able to express my appreciation.
Yesterday Dustin and i celebrated our First Anniversary. It was the most amazing day i could ask for. We had coffee at a coffee shop together and watched the rain. We got all dressed up and went out to a nice dinner. We have had some serious heart to heart conversations the last week. Its so crazy how such an awful siutation brought us so so close. I love my husband. He's my best friend and couldn't have survived this last week without him. I'm so blessed.
I am running out of time but just thought i'd give an update.

Introduction

Ok, as my beautiful Mother-in-law said, "I've put this "Blog" thing off for far too long. I'm not even sure what to say or where to start really. We'll call this my practice blog.
Well, Miss Kaiya is out on summer break. She goes to a preschool that is preparing her for kindergarten. Funny little fact, She has the same preschool teacher that her Daddy had when he was her age. I love living in Farmington because it still has that small town feel. Everyone knows everyone and you feel safe letting your children out to play without the need to stay on their heels the whole time. Anyway, Kaiya and i have been very busy playing and learning everyday. She has a few best friends that she asks to play with. That is new and soooo cute.
Dustin is always busy with work. He works such long hours so that we can afford for me to stay home with Kaiya and our nephew Brody. He is such a wonderful man. I couldn't ask for a better husband and father.
As for me, i'm lucky, i get to spend everyday with the two most amazing kids. My amazing daughter Kaiya, and my nephew Brody. I know what you're thinking... "Oh poor you, how do you stand it" Its a rough job but somones gotta do it... lol
I couldn't ask for a better position to be in. I'm so blessed in life.
Ok well i'll talk more soon.
Thanks for reading :)
Love,
The Bookers 3
